ABOUT US

Mark and Alex first met at nursery school in about 1975, in the sub-suburb of Hayes in Bromley, SE London. They  have been friends ever since.

Beer has always been a key part of our friendship, along with rugby union and old cars.

Pretty much everything related to Marlix has been the result of drunken discussions, including the setting up of the brewery, the decision to sell commercially, and the beer names. Our beers are generally named in homage to a favourtie TV show of ours, The Young Ones. This screened between 1982 and 1984 in the UK, and was considered ground-breaking at the time, in terms of the surreality, violence and general anarchic attitude. It has dated, but still funny!
